Does DISPATCHWorks have sufficient redundancy to prevent a single point of failure?
Yes. The Common Equipment Cabinet houses two identical subsystems, so that a failure of any single component causes the redundant system to handle all operations. An alarm indicates the failure, but no service degradation occurs. Back to top

How does DISPATCHWorks interface with radios and telephones? What about Enhanced 9-1-1 systems?
The DISPATCHWorks integrated communications system has interfaces for various radio, telephone, and E9-1-1 systems. Several "integrated" systems available today use a common headset to interface with separate telephone and radio systems. DISPATCHWorks goes beyond that to provide complete systems integration. A single workstation computer controls all aspects of radio, telephone, TDD, and E9-1-1 system operation. Back to top

Why would I integrate DISPATCHWorks with my Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system?
DISPATCHWorks is an open architecture system, utilizing industry-standard operating systems for both workstations and central communications equipment. This allows our system to pass information back and forth to a wide variety of CAD and Records Management Systems (RMS), utilizing our API called DISPATCHAccess. Examples of the benefits of such a system include a single keyboard and mouse for all communications and CAD functions, being able to launch telephone or radio calls straight from the CAD system, and having Automatic Number Identification and Automatic Location Identification (ANI/ALI) information sent directly to the CAD system. These and other applications greatly enhance the way Public Safety centers perform their jobs, ultimately providing better service to the general public. Back to top

What existing consoles will DISPATCHWorks replace?
All of them. DISPATCHWorks is an integrated communications control system that can be used to replace your radio, telephone, and Enhanced 9-1-1 consoles, as well as the TDD/TTY device and Alert Tone system.
